The Cedar Rapids Area Association of Realtors recorded 346 home sales last month, up from 325 in November 2015. The average sale price slipped to $186,144 from $189,834 in the same month of 2015.

Homes were on the market an average 61 days before they were sold last month, an improvement over an average 74 days in November 2015.

It’s been 91 months since the last recession.

Usually the time from the last recession averages 45 months. Maybe we’ve entered a new era where governments can hold recessions at bay. Optimism notwithstanding, I’m concerned that we’ve gotten ahead of ourselves.
